Carson City, NV 07/22/12
Man… what a way to spend a Sunday! After performing at a wedding for two of my best friends just north of Lake Tahoe, California, I cruised down to Carson City, NV to kick off the tour in earnest with a performance at High Sierra Brewing Company. This place served up some serious brews on tap and cooked up the grub to match. Plus, with a solid indoor/outdoor acoustic stage and a Sunday-Fun-Day crowd on hand, it was a great way to kick off this west coast string of performances and take the voice out for an extended test run after more than two weeks of canceled gigs due to laryngitis. (Fortunately, the vocal folds made a triumphant come back…) I tentatively tip toed my way through a few tunes to start, then let ‘er rip for about three hours. It felt terrific to be able to sing again and I couldn’t have been happier that my chest cold seemed to finally be turning the corner. Big ups to the staff at High Sierra Brewing Co. for their support and huge thanks to the local folks from Carson City, NV for their enthusiasm on a Sunday evening. Let’s do it all again soon!
