Heather Combs (www.reverbnation.com/heathercombs) is my favorite songwriter and performer in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I'm always so psyched when I have a chance to join her for one of her writers rounds at The Hotel Utah in San Francisco, California. These nights are always a hoot, featuring a total of four artists/writers in the round. (If you've never seen an in-the-round performance, it's basically a song swap: one person plays a tune, then the next, then the next, and so on until the round starts all over again with the person who kicked things off. It's really a neat experience for the players and the audience.) The night starts at 8:00pm and goes until about 11:00pm or so. The Hotel Utah serves up terrific food and an awesomely diverse menu of spirits, beers, and wine, so be sure to save your appetite for dinner during the show!
